High Colonic

Last night was down right horrible for me! At about 2:00 am, I was stricken with severe stomach pain (at least a 12 on the 1-10 chart), vomitting...the works. I tried to relax, breath through it. I took some tums, some Milanta, had Tim run out for some Pepcid at 4:00, but alas, nothing helped. The pain was excruciating. I was in tears. I couldn't take it anymore, so at about 6:00am, I woke Tim to tell him I was going to the Emergency Room. THAT was a fun ride...

Anyway, I got checked in, was given some IV fluids, anti-nausia medication, blood was drawn, and I finally managed to get some sleep. The Dr. checking me out was worried about my appendix, so he ordered a Cat Scan. No big deal...or so I thought.

Here's the deal folks. They stick a very unpleasent tube into your rectum and fill your colon with water. I cannot even begin to tell you how uncomfortable THAT was. I joked with the guy about there being no dignity in medicine and asked him, "since when did Vally Pres (the Hospital) start giving High Colonics? He laughed...and I managed to survive the procedure. I was almost hoping that there WOULD be something wrong with my appendix after going through that.

So here's my thought: These yahoos who actually go to spas and pay a lot of money to have their colons filled with water on their own free will are INSANE!
