Caitlyn

Caitlyn is my 2 year old goddaughter. She is one of those kids that just knows how to light up a room. One look at her makes you want to smile. She is funny, affectionate, stubborn, caring, smart and down right cute.

She started having, what her doctors thought were, viral seisures about 4 months ago. It's been 2 months since any episode, so everyone thought she was fine.

Wednesday morning she woke up completely unresponsive. They took her into the doctor, who then admitted her to the hospital where they live. That hospital sent her to a hospital by my house, who has now transferred her to Children's Hosptial in Los Angeles.

She needs to see a pediatric neurologist.

It appears that she has a very rare metobolic disorder. These are usually life threatening, however there are a minute few that CAN be treated through diet, vitamins and medication. We're hoping this is going to the the case with Caitlyn.

The unknown is sometimes scary. Wrapping your brain around the idea that you might loose your child is overwhelming. Most of the blood tests will not come back for another 2-3 weeks.

Pray for Caitlyn. She has 3 other sibblings who are very scared right now, and not sure what to think. Michael, her twin, seems a bit lost without her. And of course, Lisa and Jim are a bit numb at the moment...allowing their faith to lift them up right now.
