Wal-Mart Brain

Growing up, I got a lot of my clothes from the local Wal-Mart, and on the annual trip to Boaz, AL to visit the outlet stores. We only bought Lee jeans because you got 2 for $15. We were a frugal family, to say the least. So much so, my Mom would buy Izod socks, take the little allagator off the cuff, and sew it onto a K-Mart button down shirt. I remember wanting a pair of Guess Jeans, but saw that they were $50, and thought, well, forget it. I'm cheap. I can't buy anything at a "real" store unless it's on sale, not just a regular sale, but the 50% off the sale price, sale.

Shopping is just about my least favorite thing to do. I like shopping for my kids, but going to a Mall, trying on clothes, just puts me in the worst mood. I. Hate. it. with. a. passion!!!

Now, I mentioned before that I got paid to do the Pilates thing. They gave us $1,000. I decided to spend half that on new clothes for myself. It took me 3 trips to different Malls before I bought anything. Paying $75 for a T-Shirt?! $169 for a pair of jeans?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Well, the third time I went, I just said, Fuck it. I'm not going to look at the prices. It made the experience much more enjoyable, and I bought a lot of stuff. I still don't enjoy shopping, but I guess if I had unlimited funds, and didn't have to budget, I could probably have a lot more fun.
