4th Birthday

Emma celebrated her 4th Birthday yesterday! It was perfect. She started the morning by crawling into bed with me, laying her head next to mine on the pillow, and whispering into my ear, "Mommy! Guess what?! I'm FOUR today!" She had a party at school, and got to pick out what she wanted for lunch: Pizza and Corn and Fruit. (my kinda gal!) We brought princess plates and accessories, and her teacher, Marva, had decorated the entire porch with baloons and streamers. Theo and I brought the pinata and Cinderella ice cream cake (Emma picked out the design and colors) and Tim's boss let him leave work early, so he suprised Emma by coming to her school party. It was a priceless moment when she looked up and saw Tim. She screamed, "DADDY! I missed you!" (she hadn't seen him since Sunday) Anyway, she had an awesome time, and it was just perfect.

Then, to top it off, we took her to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. She was suprised again when some her friends came. She had even asked me on the way there if Aidan and Brian were going to be there. It was so cute. Even Leonard, her favorite "Hero" (gotta watch HEROES folks and support my friend!) came, albeit jetlagged since he had just returned from Italy. We lucked out because another kid was having a scheduled party there, so Chuck E. Cheese came out and Emma thought it was for her, too, so she got to dance with him and sit in his lap. She got lots of great loot, and had a wonderful time, and again, I was just overwhelmed by how many people love my kid and are willing to suffer LA traffic to eat bad pizza with her and celebrate her birthday. It was perfect!
