It's Been Awhile...

Did ya miss me?

I think I just needed a break for awhile, and found Facebook a bit easier to catch up.

Life here has been interesting. Emma has been incredibly difficult as of late. Lots of drama in her little world. I'm sure I've done a fairly decent job at over-reacting, but that's pretty much par for the course.

Come January 1st, we have to pay for our health insurance. That's going to be fun.

SAG is run by a bunch of idiots. I swear, if "we" strike, this town is going down.

I've been auditioning steadily. I'm getting callbacks each time, but no bookings. It's a matter of time. With commercials, it's really just about the way you look anyway.

My show closed to rave reviews. Damn it was awesome being back on "the stage"! I could never set foot before a camera again and die happy, but to never be on stage again... can't imagine that!

I'm starting a house cleaning business. Tim's not too pleased about it. I think he's just embarrassed. But, it's really the perfect solution. I'll get $100 a house, cash, and it's totally flexible. I'm using strictly non-toxic/environmentally friendly products which people are into out here. I hate cleaning my own house, but for some reason, I enjoy cleaning other people's homes. You just know how happy you're going to make someone, and it just feels good. I have 2 clients right now and start next week.

I'm ALMOST done w/ the Christmas presents. I'm making everyone's gift this year.

We're supposed to go to Philly for Christmas, but my SIL's FIL is not doing well at all, so they may be flying to Germany. Tim and I haven't told Emma yet, as everyday she looks at her calendar and is so upset when she sees it's not the 24th. She can't WAIT to go. I so hope we get to! My SIL even invited my parents to come up, and they're planning on it, so it would be my Husband's family and my parents which would really just be an awesome Christmas.

Our church's Christmas Show was tonight. It's so AWESOME! Our children's minister (along w/ other talented folks at our church... helps living in Los Angeles) writes an original musical every year. Emma played Mary again this year and was simply adorable. During the last number, she hid behind the row of kids who were singing, and stuck the "baby Jesus doll" between 2 of the kids and made him "dance". At the end of the song, she took the doll arm and made the baby wave. It was hysterical! On the way home we asked her why she did that and she said, "Well, Jesus IS the star of the show, so he needed to dance!"

I'm ready for Christmas, and even more ready to get out of this funk I've been in.

Is it Post-Show funk? I remember that. Tell me about starting your business! That would be an AWESOME idea for me out here! Totally flexible and not full time. Email me.

I'm also sure we could comiserate on the difficult, strong willed child. Though (and I shouldn't even type this out loud) we've had a good couple of weeks. Which probably only means he'll turn into a crazy monster on the drive to MI next week, but we'll see. Maybe not.

Anyway, I'm glad you're back. I missed your posts!
