I've Been Tagged
Wow. Thanks, Stacy! I feel honored. I've been suffering from the "outcast syndrome" lately, and this has me feeling all included. Here's my list of favorite things by the alphabet, and I agree... this was harder than I thought it would be.
A - Albums. There's nothing like listening to early Nina Simone on a vinyl album. Some music just sounds better on vinyl albums.
B - Bread. Fresh made bread. I love to squish it an eat it for a snack.
C - Christmas. The whole season. It's the only time of year I don't mind driving the 405 because people are actually polite drivers.
D - DVR. (The generic TiVo) I have no idea how I'd ever watch TV again without being able to pause, record multiple shows at the same time while watching TV, fast forwarding through commercials....
E - E-mail. It's really the way I stay in touch with everyone.
F - Family. I have the best... my extended family included
G - Games. I have yet to play a board game I didn't like. Tim and I both love board games, and can't wait until the kids get a little older so we can have "family game night".
H -Huntsville. Everytime I go home I realize just how much I miss it.
I - Ice Cream. Especially Baskin Robbin's "Tax Crunch". My nick-name when I was in Lithuania was "Ledai" (Leh-day), which is Lithuania for ice cream.
J - Jigsaw puzzles. I am addicted. When I was a kid, my Dad and I would stay up until the wee hours of the morning working on jigsaw puzzles together. A new puzzle could bring us together when nothing else seemed to work. I was a bit of a bitch to my Dad during my high school years.
K - Kites. I find it so relaxing watching kites soar.
L - Letters. My friend, Brandy, is one of those people who always sends a letter or card just when you need one. I'm horrible at sending them, but I love getting them.
M - Music. I always have music playing, and it might be anything from musicals to Eminem. Gotta have it on.
N -New York City. My most favorite place to visit. When I lived in Chicago, you could get there for less than $100 round trip, so I'd just pop up on a weekend and catch some shows.
O - Ocean. I love being just minutes away from the Ocean. Nothing calms me more than the sound of waves crashing the surf. One of my dreams was to live in a light house like the one on Pete's Dragon...
P - Public Radio. Yup, folks... I listen to NPR. (I love "mornings become eclectic")
Q - Quilts. (Especially Elaine's!). We have a quilt on every bed.
R - Rainbows.
S - Sushi. Another great thing about living here. There are so many great (and cheap) sushi restaurants... almost on every corner. Yum!
T - Theatre. I love performing on stage more than any other venue. I love the smell of the theatre. The theatre where we performed while in college was the best. It was old and so full of history. Just as much as performing, I love attending.
U - Unicycle. I learned to ride one when I was around 10. My parents won if for me at an auction, and it took me about 4 days to get it down. I still have one here, and break it out every once in awhile.
V - Violin. I'm always amazed when we go to the symphony how beautiful they sound. I've tried to play the violin, but can only get a squeak.
W -Watermelon. Nothing better than a cold piece of watermelon on a hot summer day
X - X-Factor. Although I sucked, it was such an amazing fun class, and if I had money, I'd totally take it!
Y - Yellowstone. Perhaps it's not fair that I put that down since I've never been, but I dream of going.
Z - Zuma Beach. It's close, and not crowded.
