A Week in the Life

Of the Reischauers.

This week marked a few milestones. Some traditional, some not.

1) Emma learned to tie her shoes! do you know how difficult it was for me to find kids shoes with laces? Although I love the convenience of velcro, I wanted her to learn to tie shoes. Sort of have the same feeling of wanting Analog clock over digital. Anyway, the shoes I did find with laces had super small, skinny laces, hard to little fingers to grasp. Target came through for me, and had the perfect pair with nice, fat laces. She got it in 2 tries. The look of pride on her face will be imprinted on my brain forever!

2) We decided not to move.

3) I met with the casting director for Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice & Friday Night Lights. I think I did okay. We'll see.

4) I FINALLY reached my quota for new customers! Woo Hoo!! I tell you, this stuff is so amazing. My forehead wrinkles are gone, now, and my antioxidant level is up to 62,000. ( E's right ... I live in the most vain place in America... so I'm sure I notice my wrinkles and flaws more than I should, and probably obsess over aging WAY more than I should)

5) Emma is really maturing. Her teachers have been telling me how impressed they are with her behavior and ability to negotiate with other kids. (This is a HUGE improvement for her. I'm so proud of her!) Instead of melting down, she's talking to the other kids. In fact, her teacher told me yesterday that the other kids go to her to help them negotiate their problems. It's so cool!

6) Theo is a singing fool these days! The boy has no pitch, but he sings with complete confidence and gusto! It's so adorable. He just at that yummy age where it makes you want another one. (Luckily, we've had that possibility fixed).

7) We've been successful in implementing our nightly "Family Walks", including Rocky. It's just the best way to wind down after dinner. Then we come home and read books.

So, all in all, we've had a great week. Tonight, Tim and I are going on a date to celebrate our anniversary, after his day of pampering at the spa. (It still just cracks me up that he loves that stuff! He's such a girl on some levels)
