Partied Out!
Tim's 50th surprise party came off last Saturday without TOO much stress on my part. There will always be a little stress with me, but I did pretty well. He was incredibly surprised by the "Renewal of our vows" ceremony. He got all choked up... actually, we both did. It was just perfect.
The party decorations ( 1950's Sock Hop) looked awesome! And I'm SO thankful that I had booked a "build your own ice cream sundae" person because it was really hot up in the gym.
Emma's 5th Birthday party was a Princess/Super Hero costume party. Her request. We had a bouncy house and a caricature artist. The girls LOVED the caricature artist and we hung the cartoon princess portraits all over the back patio window. It was so cute! It's hard to believe that she's five and she's really maturing. She told her preschool teacher that, "she likes being 5 so much more than 4".
I'm still enrolling her in Karate this Summer. I think a couple of months will be really great for her, especially before kindergarten. Then, she really wants to take "fast ballet" (a.k.a. Jazz). We'll see.
They'll both take swim lessons. I'm going to the swim instructor that had my 20 month old God children swimming in 2 weeks. We shall see if this goes better than last years expensive fiasco.
Our house is quiet. Strangely quiet. Going from 4 extra adults in the house to just us... Theo is still bunking in Emma's room. Tim and I are considering buying bunk beds and moving them in together. Emma would love it! Although, how do you combine a princess theme with his current jungle theme?
