Have I missed something?
Okay, so did I miss something? Didn't Osama bin Laden take responsibility for the terriorist attacks on September 11th? Why is it that every article I read says that they (young men and women) joined the military to fight the "war in Iraq because of 9/11"? Has Bush REALLY brainwashed the majority to believe that Saddam Hussein was behind those attacks?
I remember Bush always using Saddam's name whenever mentioning 9/11, and again, I thought....wait? WHAT? Yes, Saddam was a bad guy. Not a nice person. An evil ruler. Is the world a better place because he's dead? Probably. It just frustrates the hell out of me that the details of the attacks which happened on September 11th have been spun so that people actually believe Saddam was the man to go after, and that we should be in Iraq.
I do not like George Bush. I think he's just about the WORST president (or should I say "puppet") our country has ever had, and I feel very sorry for who ever inherits this mess after he is FINALLY out of office! I do think the war in Iraq is/was unjustified, and it absolutely PISSES me OFF to NO END that Bush is continually justifying us being there because of what happened on 9/11.
Get our ass over to Darfur and do some justified intervention. Or, perhaps Camden, New Jersey? They need some help, too.

Um, I don't consider myself brainwashed at all. And I understand Mr. Bush's reasoning to be on a greater war on terror, not about Saddam being responsible for 9/11. Of which I am in complete agreement - the attacks of 9/11 opened the door to a whole new kind of war, and going after a man who openly declared a desire for nukes as well as an obvious mental instability causing him to kill his own nations men, women and children make me wholeheartedly agree that he was a terrorist and I feel safer with him dead. Knowing how many people have approached my brother in law and his unit (on their second tour in Bagdad) thanking him for America's presence there make me extremely proud and supportive of what is going on there.
Seriously, if people don't think the same as you, they are 'brainwashed'? Come on, Kel. That's the easy way out. That's not opening a door to communication, is it? Well, I guess that's not your intent.
Why aren't we in North Korea? They are led by terriorists and HAVE nukes and have been threatening to make "attacks" on the U.S.A. My belief is that President Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to go to war in Iraq (and I, too, know many people fighting there, and we have lost 2 kids from our church, who died in combat). I definately believe there is more to this war than just it being a "war on/about terror". If that were the case, we would not have started in Iraq. We would have concentrated on being in Afganistan, gone on to North Korea, then Iraq, I guess. My point to my post is that I have read articles, and talked to people who have come to believe that Saddam was behind 9/11. Is this all people? No. But "you" hear it enough, "you" come to believe it to be true. Hence my saying "brainwashed". And I don't recall writing that if you don't agree with me then you must be "brainwashed". I don't think that most people who know me will find it shocking that I do not support us being over there. I do believe we now have to stay there. And I do care about our men and women who are fighting over there, and wish they did not have to be there. I am glad your Brother-in-law is having a good experience. And, as I posted in my Blog, I would totally support the U.S.A. sending more troops to Africa and helping out with that hollocaust. Please do not confuse my not being behind the war as a lack of respect of the men and women in the military.
