Just Stuff
I so wish I knew how to post pictures on this site because Emma's 4 year old portrait is so darn cute! We also got some great pics from our trip to St. Louis...one of these days I'll learn. We are now considering a move to St. Louis over Baton Rouge. I'm fine either way. I think I'm just ready for a change in my life, and as I'm not working, I don't really have anything holding me here. It will be VERY hard to leave our church, but there is a great United Church of Christ (liberal) in the area where we'd move, and a Diciples church (where we go now) nearby as well. So, there are some options. Also, my friends. Although some of my dearest live out of state (and I'd be nearer to them in St. Louis!), so I'm not worried about keeping close with my friends here. I'll really miss seeing my God Kids grow up, but I've built in a moving requirement: I get to visit LA 2 times a year. The Webster Groves school district is AMAZING! And the houses are awesome. 3500 sq ft for 300,000! With personality? And updated? YUP! Also, there is an incredible reperatory theatre right in Webster Groves so I could work again! And there's not a children's theatre, so I'm really thinking about that possibility. In Huntsville, where I grew up, there was (and still is) an INCREDIBLE children's theatre. I'd LOVE to somehow duplicate it.
Tim did not get hired back on Medium (they TOTALLY cleaned house and a LOT of people lost their jobs), and he did not get the job he was up for because the powers that be went over the 1st AD's head and brought in their own people. This NEVER happens, so it totally sucks. Plus the writers are going on strike, so if Tim doesn't get on a show soon, he'll easily be unemployed for a year. Not something we can handle financially. SO....he's looking at trying to get a job at this company based in St. Louis. They do lots of things: Live industrials, employee training videos, etc., and it's supposedly the top company to work in, and his best friend from High School is a big mucky-muck there and could totally get him a job. So, he'd be working less hours, and doing something creative...not that exciting, but creative. And floating a $200,000 loan versus a $525,000 mortgage would totally ROCK! And I saw the theatre...oh.my.gosh was is beautiful! I totally got butterflies thinking about performing on that stage. Oh, and the kids walk home from school in this town. They ride their bikes at 10 years old! Here, that would NEVER happen for fear of death. And we'd be near his Mom's independent living facility, so we'd be able to keep an eye on her care. Lots positives...driving distance to Alabama...
