Another Week in the Life
Good news! We found out Emma has been accepted to one of the (public school) elementary schools we wanted her to attend! Woo Hoo! For those of you not from the LAUSD school system, count yourselves lucky. It's a game of begging and pulling favors to get your kid in a school that you aren't zoned for. Our home school is a 1 out of 10, and is basically horrible. Alas, we got her into a magnet school, and this sets us on the path to Middle School and then High School. Once you're enrolled in a magnet program, they try to keep you in the Magnet schools. I have 2 choices for Middle School, and although I know I'm a constant worrier/anti procrastinator, I actually DO have to start applying NEXT YEAR for these schools. Insane as it is.
Also, big news on campus this week... I signed with a commercial agency! I wasn't holding my breath as everyone in the industry is assuming the actors will go on strike. Please pray that "we" don't. I'm not sure this town can survive another strike. Why the stupid SAG leaders waited until a month ago to begin negotiations is BEYOND me! Take a hint from the DGA, folks! Ugh. I'm not a huge fan of the Screen Actors Guild Union, to be honest, but unfortunately, I have to be a member in order to work. Anyway, I am very excited to have representation, and am planning on going out as early as Tuesday!
Tim and I had fun at the Cardinal's game. He went to all 3 games, and they won 2 out of the 3, so that's good.
The weather here is cruddy, so I have no idea how we'll spend this Holiday... a trip to an indoor play center may be in order.
I need to replace Tim in the game of Hide-and-Seek Theo has going.

You've got a lot of catching-up to do to understand that. the kindest thing I could do is suggest going to http://sagwatch.net/index.html and read thoroughly. You'll get the picture.
Well, Tom...after "catching up"... I'm still not all that impressed with SAG's leadership, however, I remain somewhat hopeful we will come to an agreement, and will not strike. And I stand corrected 2 months ago.
