It's been a LONG 2 days...

I've just returned from our church's talent show. This year's theme was "Totally Awesome 80's". Every year, our children's director and another incredibly talented member write a sketch comedy show around a specific theme in addition to our members performing their talents. It's always hilarious. This year, I was asked to be a part of the sketch portion of the show. I got to play Punky Brewster and sang a modified version of "Oh Mickey" (we changed the words to poke fun of one of our most active members named Rick, so it was "Oh Ricky". It was so much fun! We had others playing Tuti from Facts of Life, Sally Jesse Rafeal, Don Johnson, Boy George, Cindy Lauper, Richard Simmons, "that girl from the B 52s" and Flo from Alice. It was so fun!

Yesterday's shoot was a great introduction back into the commercial business. We shot it downtown. There were 4 principal actors and about 30 background. It was so much fun! Basically, there are 3 business people (2 men, one woman, and me, the jogger) who stumble upon this gigantic light switch in the middle of a busy downtown intersection. We all push the switch to the "on" position. It's symbolizing switching from regular energy sources to totally renewable resources... going green. It's set to launch during the olympics. It's an international campaign, so it will be seen across the world, which is pretty cool. Everyone was so supportive, positive, nice, relaxed... it was great. Anyway, there are different spots they are shooting with this light switch. One is in the desert, the other a farm, a factory and I'm in the "city spot". I have to say I did cringe a bit when I found out it's shooting in High Definition (which is so not kind, nor forgiving). I have not a stitch of make-up on, and there I am in short, tight, spandex shorts. Yuck. Oh, well. Hopefully, they'll play the hell out of it and I'll make so much money I won't care.

And I have to say I had the best "costume" for the day. It was easily in the high 90's, and the other 3 actors were in suits, and I had on the shorts and a T-shirt, but was constantly being sprayed down with moisture mist to represent sweat.

We leave Wednesday for Alabama. We've all missed Tim so much, we can't wait to see him!
