We're Baaaaccckkk!
It was an awesome vacation, and I was so glad to get to know my niece and spend some time with my sister-in-law, getting to know her a little better, as well. I didn't get to spend as much time with friends as I would have liked, but I did get to see most of the "fellas" and managed a night out with Kris and Elaine and I had a really great Birthday dinner with my entire family and Kris and Elaine's families as well.
Mom rented a house in Gulf Shores, AL...right on the beach... and it was awesome. My brother and his wife did all the cooking (my brother can grill anything an make it taste fantastic), and we just had so much fun relaxing, watching the kids play, jumping waves in the Gulf... it was just perfect.
We visited Tim's friends in Atlanta, and just really enjoyed being together again.
I even managed to survive the flights back w/out out DVD player (Tim had taken the charger by accident, and the 2 we bought did not work to charge the battery) and a 2 hour delay, trapped in the plane, sitting on the runway.
We did have a funny "accident". Theo spilled a cup of water on his first outfit, so I changed him in to his back-up outfit. Then AFTER 3 trips to the bathroom, he peed on that outfit. For some reason I had packed a back-up dress and panties for Emma, so Theo got to wear her purple princess dress with matching panties. Emma, having slept through this, woke up to see Theo, now sleeping on my lap, and she started laughing so hard and said "Theo looks simply adorable in my dress!". Of course, after landing in Los Angeles, he demanded he "was all DONE with this DRESS!" and so I changed him back into the first outfit, which by then was only a little damp. Theo does not make for a very cute girl, by the way.
Now, chaos begins. Back to our regular schedules, no sleeping in, getting Emma all ready for Kindergarten... cleaning, cooking... I need more vacations!
