Pure Joy
Last night, Emma, Theo and I were playing in the playroom. Theo was babbling, and muttered what sounded like "Emma". Emma stopped in her tracks. Looked up at me and said with the utmost joy in her voice, "Mommy! Did you hear Feo? He said my name! He said EMMA!" Emma ran over to Theo, began smothering him in kisses and said, "Oh, Feo! That is so WONDERFUL! That is just FANTASTIC! You said my NAME! You said my name, Feo! I love you SOOOOOOO much! I'm so proud of you!"
She began jumping up and down, spinning around the room as if she had just been told she'd be having ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the rest of her life.
She loves her little brother. Adores him. And he, her. I am so lucky.
