5 Things
I'm taking on Stacy's challenge. (the link to her blog (cowtown stacy) is to the right) I really love reading her blog. She reminds me a lot of myself, and has qualities that I really would love to have!
That being said...the challenge is to write 5 things that people may or may not know about you, even your closest friends. Here it goes:
1. While the soundtrack to "Wicked" is currently in my CD player, in my car (next to Taylor Hick's album) is an Eminem CD. I love Eminem!
2. I am painfully, painfully shy. I was completely outgoing, up until the 6th grade. I joined the band (instant geekdom, except for my brother. He seemed to just shine on, even when he was in the choir which is even WORSE than being in the band) and all my other friends tried to be cheerleaders. They refused to talk to me. If someone where to direct the store of my "middle school years" it would be John Hughes. I cried myself to sleep just about everynight until the summer after 8th grade.
3. In order to "deal" with losing my virginity from a date rape, I got a bit to friendly with vicodin, pot and had way too many one night stands while in college. And I really try to stay away from alcohol now because I think I have the potential to have a bit of a drinking problem.
4. I knew I was making a HUGE mistake while walking down the isle to marry my first husband. My Dad, my friends, everyone was giving me an "out" and I could not just turn around and walk away. I remember hoping that someone, anyone, would just stand up and yell, "What the FUCK are you doing!" And I dreamed they would run up and grab me and just wisk me away. I still harbor tons of guilt about the money my parents spent, the pain I caused myself...I am still trying to get over a lot of shit from those years.
5. I love George Bush and think he's the best leader our Country has had in a long time. BWAHAHAHAH!! Hmmmm....I still blame Mrs. Drake for my writers block. I allowed my dream of becoming a writer to be destroyed when my 8th grade English teacher gave me and F on our creative writing assigment. Her comment was "this is the most un-creative thing I've read". Up until then, I would fill a 5 subject notebook with poems and short stories in less than a couple of days. I sent my firt "treatment" to Bantam Books when I was 10. I wanted to be just like my Grandfather, my Dad's father, who I never met. (He was a writer)
