Opera

Emma is at this moment completely transfixed on the Japanese Opera airing on PBS. She has not moved a muscle in 30 minutes. I, myself, not a fan of Opera. But Emma...she is simply amazed and doesn't care that she has no idea what they're singing about.

The only thing she wants to do is see the Nutcracker. She saw some Barbie animated version and has asked several times a day since to go see "REAL people" dance the Nutcracker.

Sometimes I wonder if she really is mine.

Well, Kel, it's not so hard to see the striking similarities between what you love and what she is showing an interest in. I mean, c'mon- is opera all that different from live theater? Showtunes or Opera? Not THAT much different, IMHO.

(IMHO = "in my honest opinion.)

FWIW, :-)

True. True...some similarities...maybe I just don't care for ONLY Soprano & Tenor vocals with tons of vibrato, and I like to be able to understand the words. And, expect for Les Miserables, which is my favorite still, there is dialouge. But we sat through 2 operas yesterday. That Japanese one and "The Barber of Seville".

Thanks for the definitions, BTW...but what's FWIW? :-)

When are you coming back to the States?
